The METRO (Metropolitan New York Library Council) Referral Card program allows library users from METRO member libraries to have access to another member library’s collections for items not available at their own library or at the New York Public Library.

Consult with a New School Librarian (Ask Us) to confirm that the material is not available at any other public institution in NYC. Your librarian will verify the item is accessible with a METRO Referral Card by speaking with a librarian at the holding institution and issue you a Card. Contact the librarian at the holding institution to ensure the item will be available at the time of your visit.
