The New School is pleased to offer access to Stylus and WGSN, two premiere trend forecasting services.

Access Stylus and WGSN using the links here, or through the library catalog:

  • Go to the library website at library.newschool.edu.  (If you're off campus, sign into MyNewSchool and click on the "Libraries" link in the Apps Locker.)
  • Click on the 'Databases A-Z' button under the header 'Quick Links' located on the Libraries' homepage.
  • Once you're on this new page, click on 'S' or 'W' and then scroll down until you get to the aforementioned databases.

You do not need to create a personal account to use either resource. However, you can create an account in WGSN in order to create a personal workspace where you can save images and create color cards. Please note that WGSN will ask that you renew your account every 90 days to confirm that you're a current New School community member.

While you do not need to create a personal account to use Stylus, you must have an active New School email account to access the resource via our Database A-Z page.

Stylus and WGSN both offer global trend reports. Stylus is more interdisciplinary and covers design and consumer products including food, fashion, furniture, product design, and technology. WGSN focuses more strongly on fashion, interiors, consumer technology and psychographics.

To learn more about Stylus and WGSN, you can request a 1-on-1 appointment with a librarian.
