You can borrow books through our catalog from a group of 70 academic libraries, including NYU (you no longer have to go to NYU to borrow circulating books!). Please see below for how to request physical copies from our consortium.

a) Request books through our catalog by clicking on a title from the results page and selecting looking for the header, 'Request It' and then clicking on the 'Login' link. This will make a box appear, please click on the New School Login option.  This will redirect you back to the detailed record page. You will now see an option that says 'Request from partner libraries'. Please click on that and then select either book or article. Once you select the option you want, it will give you a form to fill out. Please fill this out and then click on the 'Send Request' button. Once the item has been made available, you will receive an email notification at your New School email address.

b) In addition to consortium borrowing with NYU, Cooper Union, and NYSID, you can access materials through Interlibrary Loan (ILL) and Request a Purchase. You may also email us through Ask Us with a citation and we can refer you to available options.
