The METRO (Metropolitan New York Library Council) Referral program allows library users from METRO member libraries to have access to another member library’s collections for items not available at their own library or at the New York Public Library.

Consult with a librarian at your institution (or if not affiliated with an institution, see your public librarian, e.g., at NYPL) to confirm that the item/topic is not available at any other public institution within NYC. Your librarian will initiate the process with us for you to visit and view the material.

Please note: our databases are only available to New School community members and alumni. Contact us via contact Ask Us with any questions.
