Visit our Writing Resources Research Guide to find resources to support you in your academic writing. This guide includes information on the University Learning Center, handbooks and manuals, online citation tools, citing images, and copyright.

To access the following citation tools, click on “Browse Databases,” on the library website:

  • Chicago Manual of Style - The New School Libraries subscribe to the website. The site's Citation Quick Guide provides examples of citations for physical and electronic resources including books, articles, websites, and more.

  • RefWorks - to which the Libraries also subscribes, is a tool that can be used to manage your citations and create bibliographies in various styles including MLA and Chicago. Create an account using your New School email address. More information can be found in this FAQ.

  • Library databases - including JSTOR, ProQuest, and Ebook Central, feature tools that can be used to automatically generate citations that can be copied and pasted into a bibliography.

For assistance with citing and writing, please contact the University Learning Center.
