- Interlibrary Loan (ILL) (click here to login to your ILL account) is recommended for periodical articles, book chapters, and books that are not available through E-ZBorrow. Due to the Covid-19 situation, only electronic items (periodical articles and book chapters) are currently available through ILL.
ILL is available to faculty and degree-seeking students and is administered by NYU Bobst Library for the New School community. As of Spring 2019, the New School is conducting a trial in cooperation with NYU for electronic delivery to New School email accounts of articles and book chapters that are available in electronic format at NYU.
Watch our How to Access Interlibrary Loan video tutorial for detailed instructions. After filling out any of the "Make a Request" forms, you can check the status of your requests using one of the links under the "View" section of the menu. You will be notified by email
when your items available to be picked up at Bobst Library or when they have been delivered to you in electronic format.
Unfortunately, the following services are currently unavailable due to the Covid 19 crisis:
- E-ZBorrow is a service that delivers books to any of the New School Libraries within 1 week. Books can be borrowed for 16 weeks and cannot be renewed. View our tutorials for requesting books not in the library catalog or books that are in the library catalog.
- The METRO (Metropolitan New York Library Council) Referrals program allows library users from METRO member libraries to have access to another member library’s collections for items not available at their own library or at the New York Public Library.
Consult with a New School Librarian (Ask Us) to confirm that the material is not available at any other public institution in NYC. If not, your librarian will initiate the process with the holding institution for you to visit and view the material.
