The NYU Institute of Fine Arts Libraries are part of our library Consortium.  The IFA library non-circulating collections are for library use only and cannot be borrowed.  New School faculty and matriculated students may visit and access materials with a current, valid New School ID card.

  • The Stephen Chan library is located at 1 East 78th Street.  Appointments are recommended but not required.  Before accessing the library, please stop by the library office on the second floor for a brief introduction. 
  • NYU Institute of Fine Arts offsite materials can be requested when logged into BobCat, the library catalog .  Click on "Request Item" under "NYU Inst Fine Arts."  Materials will be delivered to the IFA library in 1-2 days.  You will receive an email notification when the book becomes available.

  • The Conservation Center library is located at 14 East 78th Street.  An appointment is required.  Library collections are non-circulating and cannot be borrowed.
